Emma Knight
Emma Knight is a licensed and certified Elementary School teacher with a B.A. in Psychology who has had years of experience teaching diverse students in public schools in Hawaii and California. She moved to Oregon in December 2018 and began working with us in April of 2019. Emma has a passion for teaching and works hard to make math fun and engaging so that it truly becomes magical. She loves watching the dots connect and the confidence grow in her students with plenty of smiles and laughter along the way! Emma enjoys teaching students multiple ways to solve problems so that they can easily check their own work and find the satisfaction with knowing they are 100% confident they achieved mastery. Complete confidence in knowledge and understanding is always the goal!
When Emma is not busy helping students grow in their math confidence, she is busy engaging in a small intentional community within Eugene city limits milking dairy goats and a dairy cow and caring for chickens and a large organic garden. She also has had her own business in California in clowning, and enjoys entertaining with her bubbly personality while painting faces, balloon twisting, and adorning skin with henna tattoos, and hopes to continue this business in Oregon soon. She has two young children that take up a lot of her spare time as well. She is a master at canning and preserving and loves to cook internationally inspired feasts for her community. She is also on the council for Community Health Centers of Lane County, working hard to ensure that all patients receive quality health care regardless of their ability to pay.
